Default Got Lucky

Went to see some old friends at a cruise in in Flagler Beach. After our trip down the interstate I noticed quite a vibration. So, on Thursday morning I headed off to the local tire shop to have the wheels and tires balanced. Once there we noticed a huge bulge on the side wall of the driver side front tire. Thank God it didn't pop while driving back home on I95.The old Polyglas tires were dated from 1988 and 3 of them had checking on the side walls. Ordered a new set of four reproduction Goodyear's . Boy, they ain't cheep. Could have got a new set of radials for the Mercedes for less. Should be her by next Tuesday. So until then the Camaro sits. Better safe than sorry. I know from when I had my 67 Vette that a lot of you guys want to be N.C.R.S. correct. Old tires are for show not for driving on. Be safe and check the dates on your collector cars mine looked just like new and only had 200 miles on them.

I had the same thing on a 69 Chevelle SS, low miles but old tires that looked new, I was'nt so lucky though, front left tire blew at 70 miles an hour and cost me more to fix the carnage than a new set of tires

you did get lucky, a good warning to all
