The oil cap differed from year to year. Early ones used a rubber cap that pushed on and later ones used a twist on metal cap. Not sure if there was a difference otherwise. I've read that some had drippers and some didn't, but all I have seen had them, including the '81 set I have on my '80. I also don't know if the actual part number changed, other than the two that would differentiate the oil cap type.

There were some variations between what has become known as the "LT-1 valve covers."
  • In 1969, which the L46 used, there are no drippers with 3" cutouts.
  • In 1970, the covers for both the L46 and the LT-1 used had drippers and 3" cutouts.
  • In '71-'72, as Casey eluded to, the LT-1 used a push-in style oil cap. Still used drippers and the 3" cutouts.
  • In '73-'77, the L-82 drippers were a bit smaller, and instead of two 3" cutouts, they now had one 3 9/16" cutout, and one 5" cutout
.

And they all looked fantastic.
