1971 AC Code Axle - clutch type posi?
Did they make two different posi units for these? a cone and clutch? I would think would be a clutch?
I know the earlier Big Block cars had differences in types of straps etc...but didn't not think say a 71 would have two different units?
let me know, thanks!

This site is pretty good at explaining the different model years and codes.
The rear end codes are not included on any of the sites I have visited and as far as i know they all used the same casing in this model year then put Limited Slip Posi Track gearing into the rear ends with an option for different gearing to either go faster or have more power to the wheels.
The standard was the 3.36:1 and all others were optional. My books do not include rearend coding either. There were only 2,395 made with an optional rear gearing installed.
Clutch packs for 1964 thru 1979 used mostly the same parts and when I look up new Rear Diffs they are the same with different gearing from 1965 thru 1979. the only thing that changes is the Yoke Sizes for different model years and engine sizing.
