What did the car bid up to on the 1st go-around? All I can imagine after reading that he spent almost ten grand on rebuilding the motor and TI system is that he has some pretty high dollar expectations for it. The car may be worth a lot, but I think there are too many cars and not enough buyers in the market right now.
Looks to be the third time listed. First time it only got up to $25,655, second time he only had a buy-it-now price.
On the surface it does look like a very nice LT-1. Perhaps those truly interested in a car like this are finding more issues with discussions with the seller or viewings of the car?
At $42,250 "buy it now" price he has shown his hand.
People may like it a lot for say, $30K-$35K+, but don't bother to bid knowing the sellers expectations of $42, 250.00, which they may feel is too high.
Looks like a very nice car to me.
That car has been for sale for well over a year. It has bounced between $38 and $42k. It does look very nice, but the 4.11 rear may be giving some people concerns. It is not too far from me here in NJ, and I concidered going to take a look, but I did not want a coupe, and a LT-1 with 4.11s sounded a little high strung.

Quite honestly, I think the 4.11 is a perfect gear for an LT-1. I had a '71 that had the 3.55 gear in it, and with the M21 4-speed I frequently thought I was taking off in 3rd gear when I had it in 1st. After putting up with that for a few years I found a 4.11 rear and swapped it in, and the car was a lot more fun to drive. The LT1 cam likes to live in the higher rpm range, yet cruising at 70, the engine isn't even breathing hard and sings along nicely.
Something just doesn't seem right. What appears to be a great car with documentation has been listed time and time again but no sale or acceptable offer. I see several correctable errors in the engine compartment. There is no photo of the pad so I would hazard a guess it is a stamper. If it is truly the original drivetrain, unhit body then the asking price is in the ball park IMO.
I just came across the Ebay auction the seller bought the car from in Oct. 2012. Selling price was $33,000. Considering the asking price today, 30% profit in a year would be nice. Wouldn't we all like that? http://media.collectorcarpricetracke...0802562956.pdf
