Recently I had my name put on the drivers door. I went to B & M Graffics, because I wanted it now and I couldn't find anyone that could hand paint it on. Just as I expected, I am not happy with the results. It's a sticker
For crying out loud.
I want to have my car repainted and then I am hoping to find someone who is experienced in hand painted pinstriping to add the finishing touches. So if you know of someone, please let me know.
Why do you need your name on the door? So you can find your car in the parking lot?
But seriously, any body shop that does custom work should be able to refer you to someone that still does hand striping (if they don't have such a person employed already).
There are countless gifted pinstrippers, who can do whatever it is you desire.
Some places to find them are Goodguys events, Billetproof, or any of the kustom car/Rod shows, that may be in your area.
If you were closer I would be more than happy to letter your name. There is a forum called pinstripers garage I believe , check it out should be able to find one near you
Although this is not a reply per se' but maybe stenceling on the door maybe a solution , read further...
We had a very well known pinstripe artist working out of our shop. We were asked to pinstripe a Cadillac with gold pinstriping. As I felt I was 'out of my league' for this task I commisioned the pinstripe artist.
When I found him using two 3M masking tape plastic fine edging masking tape to outline the desired pinstripe I soon realized I was not charging enough for the process. A quick wipe down and an application of 'One Shot' pinstripe paint made for a quick 'custom pinstripe job'. A bit tough to swallow when I was making 20 points on the 'artist'.
If you are up for custom, go free hand or get the stencil with the 'letters' picked out and use the 'negative' as a guide to apply on your door.
I had "Jake from Vegas" do my T-Bucket during a Ft.Worth Goodguys.... But there are lots of pinstripers out there... as mentioned above ask around at car shows ...
No, I have no problem finding my car in the parking lot. I am always as far away from the store as I can get. Just to avoid other people's car doors. I just got so tired of everyone referring to my Vette as Kenny's Vette (my husband) so I thought I'd put my name on the door to clear that up for good. (And it looks great too) but to my amazement, it did not work!! I just don't get it. Thanks to everyone for all your great suggestions. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with me. Please keep it coming.

My wife can relate.
While driving on a trip-I'll get out, and start pumping gas (convertible, top down), normally this is the same time we switch who's driving, while I'm pumping gas (the wife now behind the wheel), people always comment on "my" Vette to me, even though she's behind the wheel (of course it's just as much hers as it is mine).
Funny stuff.
That's funny. " Not Kenny's Vette ". I think I'll DO IT!!!!
Yea I understand that but the differance is, I am the ONLY one that drives my Vette, in fact he was only been in it twice. He bought it for me as a surprise cuz I ve always loved the C3's.
Really it is MY car, he doesnt want anything to do with it. He really doesn't care for the car at all, and just can't understand the attraction I have for it, but he enjoys seeing how happy it makes me. I am a lucky lady.
