High performance altenator
Running electric fan (18amp draw) and other stuff. When the engine would completely heat up the voltage would drop off. Built a aluminum shield for the alt, checked all grounds ect. Helped but dropped off.
Put this 160 in with its much improved cooling fins, cnc pulley, much larger internal build. No voltage drop what so ever on hot motor.
So if you were ever wondering if these high outputs are worth a S^&% here is a vote YES, Worth every penny.
This thing loves to deliver current. Runs cooler and less heat on the pulley.
THE FINS ARE NOT STOCK LIKE THE PICTURE.

I'm installing the one year old 130 amp alt. from my '36 pickup into my '68 project car as we speak because I converted the car to a high CFM electric cooling fan.
My '36 350 SBC pickup is getting the new 160 amp alt. because it's loaded.
I turned EVERYTHING on in the pickup.....the 160 alt. didn't even blink!
(I know the 130 amp will be plenty for the '68 Vette.)
Thanks for confirming the swap!
