Default any thoughts on this '71 'Vette?

I am asking about a '72 on an earlier thread but also would appreciate any thoughts on this '71 . I love the color combo but can't seem to get past the seats and "roll bar". Thanks ahead of time!

That link is for a black 72 convertible. No roll bar.

I guess it depends if you want a resto mod or an original. I don't like resto mods and I really don't like a $32k resto mod.

I have an original 72, so I like the originals. This blue 71 is nice, and the blue and white soft tops is really nice. The new ZO6 seats were probably a cheaper solution to reupholstering the original buckets. The roll bar does have a purpose, but does alter the look drastically. It has an X pipe, and if you are into loud cars you will find it really cool. If you are not so much into that, then it will be much louder than stock. Here is a buddies '85 with an X pipe, no cats, bone stock motor pretty much.

The camera I had at the time was ancient and so the sound quality sucks. It was violent like lightning. It is amazing how loud it is.

Anyways the car is nice in sense that it has some mods, IF that is what you like YOU have to decide what types of mods do you like/not like, what can YOU deal with. IF you bought a C3 with mods, could the things YOU don't like be removed or replaced fairly easily? I like the 72, as it is a 72 …I just have a soft spot for them. LOL Both are nice, but for the extra money…the 71 is IMO the better color combo, but has more mods to it. I am not sure I could see paying the extra cash for the 71, compared to the 72. Anyways what are your thoughts on them so far?

Wow, that car in the video is loud! Like 'em loud...but that may be a bit much. I like the "look" of the black one but love the color combo of the blue/white one. Not really into mods either as it kills resale potential. What is the HP on the black one?

I like them loud too, and the chrome bumper vettes I like original but the later 74-82's I would modify. First thing I would do is fiber glass the front and rear bumpers in and get rid of the tacky bumper lines. Anyways the 85 puts out around 400 to the rear wheels, has over 100,000 miles and needs to be rebuilt. The cam is nice, sounds great with not cats and essentially a straight pipe set up. The X pipe runs almost the entire length under the car. It is amazing. I mean, standing next to it or sitting near it is like having a band of motorcycles. It shakes, it rattles, and it is beyond obnoxious. It is a manual …. which I rebuilt the shifter. The car has to be the fastest C4 I have personally seen or driven.

in all honesty…that is really the only thing that kills the deal on me…I know it is removable..but as is….it is a turn off more than any of the other mods.

Congratulations on the buy! The car seems to be a nice one and a good match for what you've shared as your interest.

Good luck with her!!

Add me to the list requesting more pics and updates. The black one w/AC-auto looks like a nice car with over 98K on the clock, IIRC.

Congrats on the buy.
