Default 69 body mount 3

So In my quest to remove the body from the frame I thought let me take the cover off and check the #3 mount. Pulled up my seat on wheels reach in with a 5/8 socket, that did not fit 11/16 no, 9/16no what the h-ll so I got my light looked inside and some of the head on the bolt rusted away. Dremel with a 90 bend attachment and a metal cutting blade did the trick for know . Fun Fun Fun. I am a patient man and I can see that this will be a challenge. Ill get some pics.

It should have taken a "regular" socket size (not metric) unless it was messed with before.

I agree, I think somebody tried to remove th bolt ,rounded it off then the rust got to it and bam no socket fits. Will be looking at the other side today.

I sprayed mine with PB blaster for at least a week before I tried to remove them - one thing you don't want to do is spin the cages

Default body off

I was able to unbolt mounts 1 & 2 mount 3&4 were dremilized, onto the passenger side. Also removed ground wires while I was near mount 1. Trying to be ready for lift off in a couple of days.

That's sad to hear. Hopefully you will be able to get the threads out from the caged nut. Do you have the ability to weld a nut on top of the old bolt once the body is off?

I thought once the body was off I would weld a bolt and soak and heat to get remainder of bolt out.
