Don't laugh, but I've had one of these for a couple of years and it has worked great. Biggest shortfall is the limited lift height. I think I got it for $70.

I have that same Jack, perfect, even the handle is strong but light. the lifting height is a bit limited, but the 2 ton is a longer jack and lifts higher. I paid around the same price $69 I believe. Figured the whole car weighed a ton and a half, so I didn't need anything more for the corvette.

I have the harbor freight one too, at one point one of the wheel snap rings broke and a couple of the bolts loosened up, but it sees a lot of abuse, replaced snap ring, tightened bolts, no problem since

I, too, cannot believe the 59.95 Harbor Freight Alluminum jack has held up fine for 2-3 years now...a friend of mine that I help with another 68 also has one...we used it last week to relplace all the brake rubbers and two rotors on the rear and all brake pads and it worked flawlessly...he has had his for a while also.

Its the ONLY item I have ever recommended from HF.

I had the U.S. general alum jack from HF. its junk. friend of mine just got a jack similar to the above jack, but with separate front wheels, seems real nice.

let us know what you get a how you like it.

Harbor freight. I have the low profile. Not sure of the p/n, but in has the most diverse lifting range. (very low to high). The fact that it pumps to height so quickly is also a benefit.

I have the HF 2.5 ton rapid pump about 2 years now. Works good for the money but my observation is it's only rapid pump with no weight on it. With weight on it seems like any other jack to me. Pump away.

I also have an HF low profile jack, probably had it for 3-4 years now. No issues whatsoever.

Not going to Laugh at this one I had to purchase a Low Profile Jack for my little Miata and bought a 2 Ton low profile jack for it at about $60 bucks while I had a coupon and on sale. I do not need it often but will tell it beats using a sizzer jack to lift the car so I put a regular jack under the car that only sit 3 inches of the ground. Bonus will fit in the trunk of a Miata For my Corvette I have a better jack to lift and would not use the jack i purchased or trust it on a 3500 to 4000 pound car. For my 2200 pound Miata works great and lifts it fast.

I bought my other Jack from Sam's Club and paid about 70 Bucks for it and have had it for about 8 years now.

I buy stuff from harbour freight all the time when it makes sense to buy inexpensive tools. Other Tools I am willing to pay full price for and it is worth the price to pay it.

Default Harbor frieght

My daughter and I race cars, I use a harbor freight jack in clay, mud, pretty much beat the crap out of it. They hold up fine, They come partially assembled, it's a good idea to re-tighten all the bolts.

I liked the HF aluminum unit so much that I bought a 2nd one. Both are dependable and work great. For the money, not a bad product.

I also own an all-steel general purpose 2T Sears floor jack that I carry in my pickup. It's too heavy to grab when I'm home so the aluminum ones always get dragged and slid under whatever I need to lift.

I leave the original scissors jack in the Corvette to collect dust (but it's there, if I ever need).

I like them all.

THanks for the replies. I will probably buy the HF jack this week. Any other input on the one front wheel design vs two front wheels? Is it worth the extra $100?

The one wheel roller has a lower profile, I would think the two wheel design would give better mobility when moving it around? But I opted for the smaller jack. It's been fine so far, actually quite pleasant to work with.

Light weight is good, but maybe not the most important thing.

The aluminum "racing" jacks offer quick pump up and quick lift up.

For delicate lift operations you need a jack where a big stroke on the handle results on a minuscule motion on the jack. Quick pump up jacks are not desirable for these applications. You want to control small lift up operations.

I also have the HF lightweight floor jack. Its great for using it cramped areas.

When I have to do major work under the care I use my bigger heavy duty floor jack. But to do some light work, or just lift the car to put jackstands under, the $60 HF jack is great.
