Way back when some of the C3 guys were doing the same thing (without ABS, traction, and stability control).
Imagine what that must have been like.

You must remember that since the C7 has come out the value of the C6 is going down fast.Guess they just don't care about what they do with them now.....or they got caught believing it wasn't going to snow.LOL

That may be the case with the C6 going down fast and that could turn out to be another '82 vs '84 mistake for the C6 owners. Like which one is worth more today?

Not knocking the C7 but I'm just gonna wait to see more comments from owners on here for about a year after they've taken delivery.

Anyone know the story behind the pic? What's actually going on? That car should have no problem driving on snow, so what are they doing?

Um, they are pushing it! It looks like about 6" of snow and, for those that dont understand the concept, cars don't like to drive in snow. That is why many of us drive big gas guzzling 4x4s in the winter around these parts.

For reasons that I won't get into here, I drove my '69 through the winter of 1992. There was only one time that i couldn't make it to work because the snow was too deep.

That's obvious. My question is why are they pushing it? The computer in that car and the traction control system can drive it in 6" of snow and respond to the conditions quicker than the driver can.

That's only if you can get it moving.
We had about 6" of snow on a little ice here Saturday morning. News had a new Camaro holding up traffic on a minor hill. Wide performance tires just don't do well on the snow regardless.
The relatively tall, skinny tires on my C3 would do better in the snow than a new vette.

I do not think a c6 corvette can handle plowing though 6" of unplowed snow. looks like he stoped at the light and was unable to get traction. if thats down town CL I live fairly close.

The width of the tire is a factor, but even more so the high-performance summer tires are made from a rubber compound that turns rock hard in cold temps = much reduced traction...

I had a '90 300ZX that came from the factory with 12" wide summer compound tires. If there was ANY amount of snow on the ground, the car might as well have been up on jack stands when you let out the clutch. The tires spun, but it had absolutely no effect on the car, not even a fishtail or a little wiggle. After the first dusting of snow I bought a pick up as a winter vehicle and left the ZX in the garage.

Just checked my C6 owners manual. They recommend against installing chains. In fact they forbid it. Those guys don't know how to have fun.
