Default Re-introduction

Hello all!

So I bought my first 'Vette earlier this year as a project. It was a poor, neglected, black on black '81 that had been sitting in a garage for about 12 years. It was going to be a fun project (so I thought), but due to lay-offs and losing my company vehicle and comfortable pay, it became a daily driver. I've learned more about this car than I care to mention but I'm not giving up on it!

So the good: It's a 'Vette

The bad: It's a 'Vette

More bad: Control arm bushings gone (not bad...gone!), tie rod tube stripped out. Pulls all over the road and ruined two new cooper cobras in a matter of months. Harmonic balancer fell apart but has since been fixed. Idles great sometimes, other times...not so much. Valves need adjustment. Interior looks like a grenade went off inside it, paint chipped and scratched and just plain ugly. Right headlight actuator has leaking front seal, opens when it feels like it. Electric fan doesn't work. Now major electrical problem with gauges. And on, and on, and on...

Where I'm going with all this is that I'm moving back to Pittsburgh and I'm wondering if there is anybody else that knows any corvette friendly shops/parts stores in the area.

I'm back in the saddle as far as work goes and I want to give this car the love it deserves. Besides that, I haven't been on here in a while and wanted to say hello again. Hello again!

like any car, if nothing is done as far as maintenance to a vehicle, it starts to fall apart. The corvette front suspension is not expensive to rebuild, it just takes a little time and love. The rear is a little different story, MORE money and MORE time and BFH to help!
