I learned a lesson today. Had a spare tire tub to ship. Got crazy quotes from UPS, really crazy. So I stopped at the P.O. And to my surprise they were reasonable. Just stay below their weight limit and dimension limit. It payed off for me.
For my business I use USPS all the time. Spend several grand a year with them. They may not be the cheapest all the time, but they pickup for free and that is something the others don't do. They charge a pickup fee and their local stores charge more than their online pricing. I have tried paying & printing ups online and taking it to a local ups store only to be charged a drop off charge. It may have changed in the last couple of years as it has been a while since I did anything other than USPS.
