I learned a lesson today. Had a spare tire tub to ship. Got crazy quotes from UPS, really crazy. So I stopped at the P.O. And to my surprise they were reasonable. Just stay below their weight limit and dimension limit. It payed off for me.

What is their dimension and weight limit? Tub is not very heavy but it is decent size.

Under 75 lbs. and 100". They pulled the tape measure tight for me, just plain lucky. The tub was 39" diameter and 10" at the highest.

For my business I use USPS all the time. Spend several grand a year with them. They may not be the cheapest all the time, but they pickup for free and that is something the others don't do. They charge a pickup fee and their local stores charge more than their online pricing. I have tried paying & printing ups online and taking it to a local ups store only to be charged a drop off charge. It may have changed in the last couple of years as it has been a while since I did anything other than USPS.

US Postal Rocks!

Meanwhile U$P$ loses billions of $ every year because of those great rates. If they weren't funded by Fedzilla, it would be out of business like a real company.

Always use USPS, Fedex/Ups as a last resort. Prices are unbelievably high. What a ripoff.

The federal government passed a law requiring USPS to have all the money it needs to pay for upcoming retirees for the next 70 years - something no private company has to do. Thats why its losing money, the Republicans are trying to drive it out of business.

I just shipped 4 tires via USPS for $28 each.

Fedex ground was 45 each. UPS ground was $52 each
