Chaseing down a short to ground...
Courtesy lights are staying on with this '73. Both doors shut (all door switches depressed), and Headlight Switch turned off of it's left (counter clockwise) stop. Courtesy Lights stay on (front floor lights and rear bulkhead). Am I forgetting something?
I now know why the P.O. simply cut the front socket wires & left the bulb out of the rear compartment light.
Possible hint: Left Turn Indicator light in Speedometer gauge remains dimmly lit when Light Switch is pulled ON. Turn signal does operate normally.
Thanks in advance.

The left turn indicator hint indicates a loss of a ground in the turn signal circuit or gauge lamp circuit.
The heat marks indicate excessive resistance near that connection.

Problem Solved
As far as the dimly lit Left Turn indicator Light in the Speedometer with the Headlight Switch ON: Noticed the left front side Fender Light was dimmer than the Front Grill Parking Lights. Removed the bulb holder from the socket and removed the bulb, and then observed the Speedometer's Left Turn Indicator Light extinguished.
Reseated the bulb back into the holder and it was now bright. Left Turn Indicator Light remained out.
After all this, I inserted a bulb into the Courtesy Light Circuit, and it now operates as normal; extinguishes when both doors close, illuminates when either door opens.
Problem wasn't a shorted wire, just a bulb contact (Left Front Side) drawing too much resistance.
Simple Stuff FIRST!
