Default Spare Tire Question

This pic is of the spare that was in my project '68 spare compartment. I don't think it is for a '68 but do not know for sure. It appears to be very old but in decent condition. Although I certainly would not use it because of its age. Anyone know how to tell where this would have been used?

I have more pics of the markings in various places but rather than load in a bunch of pictures I will try and only post specific areas that anyone on here could use to help identify application.

Not 68. Space savers spares came out in 78, and (I beleive) the yellow ones were early; black later. Somewhere in the DOT code for the tire, there is a date code.

68-77 spares were a full sized tire (matching the stock four) on a rally wheel.

Thanks Mike. This would look like 41st week of '77? Does anything indicate the vehicle it would have been issued to?

The spare in my '80 looks exactly like that and it was original with the car.

Not that I am aware. Your wheel/tire combo could easily have been GM generic and used us a zillion cars, including Corvette. The love of my life has a 96 convertible with what looks like the same spare combo you have.
