Default Executive edition?

There is an ad on Craigslist for a 1980 Executive Edition Corvette. This is the third or fourth time I have heard about an Executive Edition C-3 in the past few years, but I can't find any real information on them.
Has anyone hear heard of them?

I wonder if a rental agency bought some C-3s back in the day or some other company. There is a discussion on A different Forum where the owner says Executive Edition is engraved in the lower corner of the back glass. The owner on this forum is in a different country (don't remember where) the owner selling this one on Craigslist says his back glass is engraved to.

They were extremely limited production examples owned exclusively by very high powered executives. Documentation of their credentials is a must

Yep. I would say the seller doesn't have a clue about the car. Post the CL link.

Here's a link to the ad I think the OP was referring too. No pictures and it doesn't give much worthwhile information either.

I've never heard of any GM built "Executive Edition" Corvettes. Craigslist seems to be a magnet for these kinds of rare, special edition, limited production Corvettes.

Back in the late seventies, one of my sisters and her moron husband (husband #2, I think, maybe #3?) bought a new Nova that had a pinstripe package a lot of dealers in the area were installing called the Medallion Edition. It had Madallion Edition logos several places on the car.

They thought they were such hot s**ts with that car, their eyes would light up when told people they had the Medallion Edition, as though that transformed a Nova into a Beemer or something, and everyone should know what it was and how impressive it was. I've never seen so many blank stares; people didn't know what to say, but I know what they were thinking.

God knows what that idiot paid for the car with all that tape all over it - probably well over sticker!

At least the build sheets are protected on the executive editions...

Dom Portwood: Ah! Yeah. It's just we're putting new coversheets on all the build sheets before they go out now. So if you could go ahead and try to remember to do that from now on, that'd be great. All right!

But wait! It has a "vacuum pump" for the headlights. That must be exclusive to "Executive Edition" '80 Vettes. I gotta get me one of those.

Possibly an executive demo? Possibly built for a GM exec, but more than likely for the dealerships sales manager. /:\

dealers do crap like that all time to sell cars.

the best one I remember an old dealer i worked at doing, was taking a black '02 Cavalier and a silver '02 Cavalier, swapping the ground effects on them so they were both two-tone, and putting "SS" badges on the fenders from a '02 Camaro. I remember hearing a salesman say about the silver one, "this is the only one in this part of the country, the only other one is down in Florida.

That is the link I was referring to There is also an old post on the Corvette action center forum from an owner who bought the car in Switserland. It just seemed odd that I have heard of this edition a few times in different places and it doesn't exsist

Have never heard of or read of "Executive Edition" but the seller without any photo's doesn't help us to try and figure out what he is selling. On our local Craigslist we had someone selling a RARE 1980 CORVETTE EDITION (in bold text) as if this was a great selling point. True, they are somewhat rare but with less horsepower than any other Corvette sold at the time I didn't see it as something I would have made a big deal of in BOLD PRINT. Don't really care if it's an Executive Edition or not, show me some pictures to peak my interest as I am looking.

Should have said "RARE 1980 CORVETTE CALIFORNIA EDITION" (in bold text)

They are confused between 'executive edition' and 'executive decision'.....which means their wife told them to sell the car.
