Default 79/73 nose

does anyone know if a 73 nose piece will physically bolt to a 79 front clip.

I know it would leave a gap between the head lights, but I thought I could fill that piece in.

I might be able to pick up a 79 roller cheap.

Yes it will but with the gap in the middle like you already know. Not a big deal if you are glassing the bumper into the body. The grills and all the hardware are different though. I thought about doing the same thing to my 75 so I could run the center grill. 73/74 definitely the best looking rubber front! Combined with a 74 one piece rear bumper and Pace Car front and rear spoilers it makes for the best looking rubber bumper car you can build, IMHO! The 80 rear bumpers not bad either.

Don't do it! The 73 is so much cleaner than the 75 to 79 nose with it's bumperettes and large license plate area. It would probably be a pretty significant hit on your car's value too!

FWIW: use your 73 hood and hardware with the 79 clip. Hood latch hardware is different on the 79s.

With little or lot of work any c3 can wear any c3 year front clip,
But all kinds of things changed including windscreens,

This is my 69 with 73-79 front clip, It's modded, bumper molded in, no side markers, so who know which of the 73-79 it started out as.....one owner of a "real" 73 at old town told me not to park next to him, I told him to take a trip to the drugstore ointment isle and then tell people his is the real deal and mine is a 69 if that makes him feel better about it...

Yep...it's for sale.....

If your car is all pristine stock then perhaps using the correct year matters but if it's just a driver for good times do it the easiest way you can....

I'd hate for that guy to tell me where I could put my basket-case-project that I rescued....

it's a real '68---between the firewall and the gas cap lid....LOL!

You know how it goes the fellow made it known to me he was a member of or involved in "NCRS".
NO I AM NOT DISSING NCRS SAYING THAT FACT,
NCRS members or not sadly too many times when I hit a show, meet or cruise some fellow or another has to spew about how mucked up my car is, they go on the rant about how it should be bone stock original...yawn,

These fellows fall in a little skinny demographic...the other 98% dig my car.

actually, my intent was to use the fender to fender clip, but use a new 73 nose piece and grills. just filling the area between the head lights.

but waited to long and the 75 is sold....guess I might try sveing the current clip, worse that can happen is I have to replace it any way.
