Hoping to hear some sage advise on how to properly fill a patched area on the rear fender of my 76. This is on top of the fender and was the result of an old accident in the early 80's. The patched area has shrunk and needs to be leveled before repainting. Solid material, no cracks, just unsightly.
Thanks,

Thanks,

A picture would be a big help as to how extensive the job would be.

Pics would help. You might be lucky enough to get away with only filler.

Big Blizzard here today, can't even get to garage now for pics. It is a shallow indentation over the patch. What kind of filler would I use?

attached a picture of the dent. Hope this works, not the best with photo on this site. You can see the deepest cut which is surrounded by a slight sunken area about the size of a dinner plate.

My .02: you are problably going to have to get the paint off of it before you can see what you have. What does it look like on the underside? Can you see evidence of a patch from underneath?

That's encouraging. Sounds like the fiberglass repair was done reasonably correctly, from both sides.

Yes, it is solid, just shrunk over the years. Any suggestions on what kind of filler to use?
