Default Tire/Wheel combo

Would like input of pros/cons running 255/60/15's rear and something like 235/70/15, 245/70/15, 245/60/15, etc., up front. I just purchased new wheels and need them mounted anyway and thought I might change the front end a bit. BTW, I'm running 255/60/15 all around now. Thanks in advance and have a great weekend, Bill

I think the only choice is either keeping the 255's in front or changing to 245's. The 245's are 26" tall compared to the 27" of the 255's.
Here is mine with 245 front and 255 rear.

Hope this helps.

I am now running 235/60/15 on the front and 255/60/15 on the rear. These are mounted on aluminum 8.5" wide rims. When I was running the stock 8" wide Rally rims, I could run the 255's all the way around. The 255's on the the 8.5" rims would rub the right fender when turning full lock to the right. I could have clipped the fender for clearance, but chose not to.

A 235/70-15 is a little taller than a 255/60-15 so I would pass on that idea.
If you don't want to go with 255/60-15s all the way around think about a 245/60-15 in the front.

Thanks for the replies. I'll probably go for the 245/60's. The reason I'm thinking of a change is because, for the first time, I had a slight bit of rubbing on a hard left turn. Not too bad and only when fully locked left. I also don't mind a slight drop in the nose (used to call it a "California rake" back in the day). Nothing radical, I have enuf trouble getting up ramps now. Again thanks for the replies and have a wonnerful weekend, Bill

Hey Bill. You will be happy with that set up. It is exactly what I have on my 69. Good luck and happy driving.
