C3 Rubber Bumpers
I'm a new Corvette Forum member and I'd like to get your opinion. I recently purchased a 1976 that needs both bumpers replaced. I've looked on several websites that sell corvette parts and they offer a hard fiberglass or a flexible fiberglass (flex-fit). Does anyone have any recommendations as to which one works better.
Thanks,
Melborn
The flexible fiberglass ones will give the illusion of being urethane, but a good bump is going to crack them, just about as easily as a rigid glass one. There is some give to the flexible ones, but nothing like the OEM urethane.
Personally, I like the flexible ones, because that do seem a little bit more like urethane, but the rigid ones do cost less, if that's a concern.
