Default OBX Sidepipe question

I'm about to order these sidepipes and was wondering what all I needed to mount them with?

The tee bolts are carbon steel. Get some 304SS nuts from your local hardware store and you'll never have a problem getting the hardware loose when you want or need to change the muffler insert. Been using SS for 10 years plus on mine.

I forgot, you will need better gaskets and most likely have to drill out 2 holes on the headers to make them line up better with the heads

I had pics in my build thread but they aren't showing up, I will post them here. You will need the sidepipe mount kiit, offered by the "American Made" company which makes sidepipes. You will need a different alternator bracket/mount.

IDENTICAL to the other brand that is out there, the "American Made" one

After installed and running, I had an exhaust leak, there was a pin hole where they missed welding. It was an easy fix, I am very satisfied with this system.

Before mounting sidepipe and before putting header in car, get an idea of how far the sidepipe will slide on - mark it with tape

May have to strategically trim here and there

Slip right in from bottom of car

Allen head, 1 inch bolts for best clearance

T bolts that pop into frame

Some people use dental floss, I think wire is best...to hold T bolts in place while putting sidepipes on, if not they will fall into frame, which if that does happen they are easy to get out - especially after it happens 3 or 4 times haha

Cut wire after

Before mounting sidepipe and before putting header in car, get an idea of how far the sidepipe will slide on - mark it with tape

Had to shorten one bolt, due to tube diameter, I put a nut on as a guide before cutting

After cut and here is the allen wrench that we have been using for over 20 years on tight header bolts

Had to cut a steel sheetmetal flap that was covering the factory sidepipe mounting hole for the sidepipes

Can be done with starter in place, at least in my car was fine

Also had to round the head on the shortened bolt to clear tube

...and had to chamfer hole on the flange for the shortened bolt - I have heard the same being done with the ones that are "American Made"

Tight like a tiger, I had to tighten it with channel lock pliers, rather then the allen wrench but could modify an allen wrench to fit

NOT a bracket I made, this was another one sitting around but is essentially the same thing I put on the Corvette, it allows the alternator to mount off the front header bolts on the first header tube

Although these are both made to mount an alternator off the header bolts, these two pieces didnt sit just right, so I took the grinder and modified it so it would sit flat against each other
