You may need more information like is the body off the frame. Is it sandblasted to raw metal, what are you looking to do with the frame. The bottom line is you can probably use almost anything. It all depends on what you are going for. Hope this helps

its a 79 vette,body already off frame,sandblasting it now,looking for an economical way to paint frame and i know the bedliner is tough s##t

I know I had my frame powder coated but I did not like the shine so I sanded it with 400 paper, went to Lowes and got Rustoleum etching primer and sprayed the entire frame. Then came back with Rustoleum semi gloss black. Total cost $75.00. Seems to have a fairly thick coating.

We use this on pretty much all the frame at the shop .. you can find it for less than $100 a Gallon
