Default Wrong hood what year

So it looks like I can add a hood to the list of what is not correct. I am guessing this is a 76 or a 77 or later hood? It doesn't have the cowl opening and the latches look like they are for a 75 but I am not sure.

Possibly a 77 hood. I agree with you; someone has been playing with it.

Latches appear to be L69 - 76. Since the latch design underwent a major change in 77, the hood can't be a 77 or later design unless, as Easy Mike stated, someone has done some major modding. Also, while there's a feature in the hood for a grille, it's not cut out. Maybe an aftermarket hood?

That's a 1977 hood that they hacked up. The good news is that you can sell me the liner!!!

It looks like a 77 hood, that has been "modified" so it could be used with 69-76 latches. The 78-79 hood was exactly the same, but they used a shorter insulation blanket. It only covered the front half a the hood.

In each of the latch pics, you can see where the outer of the two bolts that held each striker to the hood were mounted (color difference). There must have been a rectangular plate between the hood and each striker as a backup. Also, in the 4th pic (RH latch), you can see where the glass was opened up to provide clearance for the teepee. I agree - a 77ish hood. Now, back to my Saturday honey-do list!

I am eventually going to sell off this hood and the insulation, parts, etc. after I get a correct 75 hood and the related parts, ducting, and latches. That is pretty far down the list though. I still have to get this thing off of the ground and work on the fuel and brake systems.
