Can doors from later model C3's be used on a 1970 car? I have noticed some rust at the bottom of the steel portion of the door and it may be easier to replace the entire door. Problem is, finding a decent 1970 door. I have located several from 1975-1980.
Coupe or convertible? The doors are slightly different. You should be okay with 69-77 doors, 69-75 convertible if you have one. Doors are different 78-82.

My understanding is that 1973 and later doors have steel reinforcements to comply with impact regulations, as noted above.
I have both a 1970 and a 1976, and the doors of the latter are significantly heavier. They look the same from the outside though, if that's all that matters to you.
I might be able to repair. The paint is bubbling up on the lower metal lip, I have not removed the door panel to look inside yet. Based on the way it looks now, I am thinking the outer skin would need to be removed to cut/replace any eroded metal. For all I know, these may not be the original doors to begin with. I guess if they are, it may be worth trying to salvage them.
I see threads on here where guys have saved doors that were in very bad shape. They typically cut out the bad stuff and weld in new metal.
I'd try to save it first, even if you have to get someone else to do the repair. I know I couldn't do that type of work myself, but I would farm it out.
