I realize that seems like a strange question but I do not have my car at home to take that measurement. For several years I had a daytime driving light (DRL) system on my 1974 (pic). It worked very well but the control module failed in 2012. I now have a replacement but I gutted the DRL front wiring at that time. Front power wire to control switch under dash is still in place. I wish to rewire the front lamp extensions (I have the old spares) for use in 2014. This is a basement job and I need to know what length of wire to allow for going from module near driver's lamp to passenger side lamp. If someone could take that measurement it would be appreciated.
G'day Paul,
Just measured my '69 and it's approx. 1.2m(just under actually).
Hope this helps,
Mark
Thanks Mark. I appreciate that. It's a bit of a dog's breakfast to do that wiring and I want to get it right. So 3 1/2' for the cross wires should do the job.
In case anyone is wondering what I am talking about, the DRLs run on the bright filament of the #1157 bulb. Normal turn signal operation is not affected. That is the beauty of the system.
If need be, I have manual control of the system via an LED toggle switch under the dash. It is has an inline 10A fuse. Power is from the IGN ignition switched terminal on the fusebox.
