Default switched power sources

My 71 is just about ready to go for its first run (if the snow ever f*&^s off!!!)
What switched power sources has anyone used for modified or added wiring.
for example. My TCS switch wiring serves no purpose anymore. So I hooked up my fan controller to that wiring.
What other switched sources could be available with a vette that has a non original motor?

Old distributor wiring?
old coil wiring?
any others?
Thanks

Just find an open spade lug marked IGN and it will be switched with the ignition. Use an in-line fuse in the wire. If you want it to work while the key is in accessory, find an open lug marked ACC.

Thanks guys. but Im thinking a little differently.
What I am thinking about is that there is unused wiring in my engine bay now. TCS Switch, Dist. wiring, Coil wiring, some wires from the starter, etc...
If this wiring is just sitting there open then why not use it? depending of course on the electrical requirements of what I am hooking up.
I dont have anything huge to hook up.
I am trying to find a decent place to hook up my electric choke from my carb. I could run a wire from the fuse box, and that is what started me thinking. instead of running new wire everywhere why not use exsisting wire from the harness and keep everything looking neat and tidy.
I know this sounds very Bubba ish. just looking for alternatives.
have a great day every one.
