Default Engine Code Suffix Mystery

G'day All,
Just went through and tried to decode my engine number. Problem is that I can't find an answer to my engine code suffix.
My engine number is V0514XT - Flint engine, May 14th, but XT? Can't find this listed anywhere!

Anyone have an answer?

Thanks,
Mark

Not trying to be a wise guy, but perhaps a truck engine?

Or human error?

All the X... codes I've seen came from late '60s light trucks.

Yeah guy's, has me stumped as well, I realise it's not the original engine, definately not numbers matching. The 'XT' code though does not correlate to anything that I can find!

Just a tip: with point-and-shoot cameras, it's best to take a picture of the wider area then crop down your picture to enlarge. Or, set it to macro-mode, if it has it. All cameras have the megapixels these days to withstand a decent amount of cropping without losing the clarity of the photo.

With cropping, you can turn this:

Into this:

As for your situation, certainly looks like an "XT" to me. How about a 1967 Pontiac 400ci?

Given the pattern below, I'm going to guess it's a low HP 2bbl 350 for a '69 light truck as said above. That fact that there's no VIN derivative suggests that the engine was supplied as a long block replacement engine
