Speedometer issue - which part does this video point to

69 vert with orig munci 4spd

Does this video point to a particular part immediately? Drive gear, cable, or speedometer gauge itself?

It 'worked' like this when I bought it and does now too. It didn't 'work' at all for a while (stayed flat at zero) until one day I ran the speed up past my usual max of about 55 to closer to 85 for a burst and viola It went back to this.

The head of the speedometer maybe over greased or have dry grease. The other thought is the cable. You can try very lightly lubing the cable with speedometer lubricant.

just changed the gears in my 81. someone told me I have to change the gear in the trans because I went from 275 to 355. how do you know how many teeth or color the gear is. thanks anyone new member
