Hello. I'm Bill, I'm new. I have an A/C problem on my '79 Vette.
The A/C only blows cold air out of the 2 round outlets near the floor. (One on each side.) No air out of the dash outlets. It will also blow heat from the same outlets. This is my first Vette, and I am completely lost. Any clues? Thank you very much. Bill.
Air doors are vacuum actuated. Check for vacuum leaks under hood. Do you hear hissing noise from / under dash ? Do you hear air doors moving or hissing when control is moved thru the different modes? When moving mode lever does it feel like something moving?
Hello Kenova. Thanks so much for your prompt reply. I cannot hear any hissing noises anywhere. I removed the upper half of the center console. I thought I would see some type of doors or actuator, or something. No way. Isn't there an actuator that moves the air doors to open and close someplace, and where are these doors located?? Any help will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks again, Bill.
You will need a service manual to tell you how to access actuators. I'm thinking you will need to remove dash. I would check the control first, however.
Hello again. Wow, I was hoping this be something simple, but I thank you very much for your help. I think I can get the manual on Ebay. Thanks again. Bill.
