So Victor Rjesnjansky comes into my frozen yogurt shop and he is always nice. One day we got to talking about Corvettes and he has had a bunch, but only has a black 81 right now. It is not stock as it has been back halfed, the storage compartments cut out, everything on it is built for the track. It has like a 502 in it and Victor spends his time away from storage lockers and running his shop racing his C3. He drives it on the street but it is more of a track car. He invited me to go racing with him. Just kinda of neat and wanted to let you guys know that he is a really big C3 fan. He is cool in my books as he has a C3!
He is a guy that goes to storage lockers and buys them for cheap and then takes the items and sells them in his store. He is a local East Texan that is on a TV show, Storage Wars Texas. As I see him often, we have got to talking and we discovered he is into Corvettes. He often buys lockers with cars in them. Anyways that is just a little information on him.
Well the car has its new clip on, the body work has been done, new windshield, chrome is re-chromed, and painted.
I should be going to Dallas soon and picking the car up. As of right now the paint and body is done, but I still have a long way to go. All of the trim, headlights, interior, suspension, brakes, etc either needs to be replaced or installed. So I have a long way to go, and a short time to get there.
Here are some photos of the car during various stages of the repairs. Last photo shows 4 layers of color and 4 layers of clear. It had not yet been buffed.

Did he move there from NY? Sure doesnt act like he's from Texas.

Car is looking great Brandon!! Bet you are stoked to be getting her back soon... Did you get a new frame or just fix the original??? Really dig the Orange!!!
I haven't seen the car since it was being prepped for paint. I am told the car is fixed, and it is ready to checkout out of the ER. I should be going and picking the car up either this week or next. The car looks nice in the little pictures I have been sent, but hopefully the car will blow me away when I see it again.
No it is Ontario Orange, or at least that is what it should be. If I see the car and it is the wrong orange….I will NOT be happy.
I think the lighting is what gives it a darker tone, but I am not certain. I should go and pick the car up soon and hopefully it will be everything I asked for and then some in a good way.

I looked into replacing it verse repairing and decided that after looking at things that only the driver side frame rail was dented in and slightly damaged. So the rockers were cut and then the frame was addressed, repaired and then everything put back where it used to be. So I am happy as long it is all gets fixed and the car looks greater than it used to be.
I am very excited but nervous too as I know things could still be a squirrelly. I know JB's does great work, yet I just am still nervous as I haven't seen my car yet.
its beautiful...what color are you going with the interior.... white/doeskin??
I am thinking of just going with the original saddle interior, however everything is original yet it still cleans up nice. With that said, since it no longer has the original paint, I am thinking of replacing the carpet and touching up the interior to make it look as nice as the exterior. I am not made of money, ... and just funding the repairs are proving to be a hard thing to do. I have a 1970 BBF Mustang I have been building for 6-7 years and I lack what I just put into the Vette to get the Mustang finished. So I have been a little sad, as I just don't have the funds to make both projects work. As a result I am forced to make a decision I don't want to have to do. I have a 2012 Camaro I am hawking to support my projects.
…on the positive side my car will be very nice when finished.
sure looks real good , glad it's working out for you , it's about the love affair with your ride !
Love makes people do things….trust me…there is plenty of love for my '72. Some people would think it would be strange for a man to love his car more than just about everything you named. I have had offers, legitimate offers, and most people call me crazy for turning down. I had offers (same guy) for his 1967-68 Mustang fastbacks (he had a '67 & '68 that he restored - nice cars) and 10,000K cash. I have a 1970 428 Cobra Jet Mustang, so I didn't really want to trade for something I technically already had. The guy was nice, and really wanted my car as his dad had one identical, same options, colors, everything. He said he had been looking for a '72 like mine for years and said he had never seen a '72 so nice. I know that the trade would have been about $60-70K but I would have been left with 3 Mustangs in a Corvette household. Don't get me wrong, I like Mustangs, but I love Corvettes. I love my 1970 Mustang, it spoke to me when I saw it and it talks to me when I am working on her. But it is never going to be a Vette. Long story short I drove away with my Vette and crushed a guy'd dreams of buying a car for his dad. I know it would have a great feeling knowing the car was going to make a guys dad happy, but it was my dad's car and then he gave it to me early on. I would have been that guy looking for a car like my 72 after I sold the '67 and '68 Mustangs. I still think I made the right choice. What do y'all think?
Where are you getting the repair work done Brandon? Not here in T-town I suppose...
JB's Corvette Specialties in DFW. They have been doing it 35+ years and did a 1960 for my dad 15-20 years ago. My mom rear ended his '60 with her Lincoln Towncar in the late '90s. They fixed it very well. I would recommend them to anyone. They are very fair on pricing.
