I'm almost ready to remove the body off the frame on my '71, however my # 3 body mount bolts have stripped, I was able to get the passenger side removed quite a bit before it gave up, but the driver side gave up sooner. I torched off both heads of the # 4 bolts, but these # 3 are kinda tricky being in that pocket. Anybody else been through this? What did you do? Is there a drimmel that can get in there? Also I have fire retardant cloth I could stuff in there has anybody done that before and it worked? Thanks
Dremel has an attachment its like a slinky hose where I attached the cut off wheel to it. I could barely fit it into the cubby. Slit the bolt from the top and any angle you can get. Went through allot of wheels be for I went to Lowes and got a cold chisel and whacked the head of the bolt off. I t takes awhile. good luck.

Took the head of the bolt off in small chunks with a dremel. Takes a bit of time. Dremel wheel is at right angles to the bolt shaft. I used a 1 inch fiberglass cut off wheel.
Make sure you are wearing glasses or safety glasses. These wheels will sometimes break apart with no warning and the pieces go flying fast.
I put an extension onto the racket handle and put enough torque onto the bolt head to snap it off. The other #3 mount bolt head was stripped so a Sawsall was used.
Reciprocating saw with a 6, 8 or 12" blades. You will go through a few. I don't remember which size I used but a do know a bent a few cutting off the head of the bolts.

I was able to do the same and take it out in pieces.
