Anyone add remote door locks
I have a 1980 power locks , I would love to have remote locks so I can of course lock and unlock with out using the key .
Has anyone done this and what kit did you use.

I did this 15 years ago on my '73. Used a cheap kit from JC Whitney. I have them connected thru my alarm system. Has worked fine ever since. The kit was just to simple actuators which had flat multiple hole bar stock which I was able to attach to the rod that hooks to the lock **** then anchored the other end to the door inner structure. As I have power windows I just put the wires thru with the PW wires. As I recall it was a fairly easy job. I had the interior apart anyway as I was updating it at that time.

When I installed my car alarm that was an option. You may check the alarm vendors web sites. I believe they sell kits to do just the door locks.
My alarm is made by Directed Electronics if that helps any.
