Default Convertible deck weatherstrip

I got a new conv deck weatherstrip and it has 90* ends on it that my original did not.

Has anyone installed one of these that could post pics of how the ends fit?

Thanks,
Craig

i dont have pics but I ended up cutting off the ends as it turned out to be an inch or two short when test fitting on my 68. was a quicker and cheaper option than sending it back to the US from here. That said, the right angle bits should when installed match up with the similarly contoured section on the body.

When we install the deck lid weatherstrip we do the following:
1) We clean all the mold release from the rubber
2) We put a thin coat of glue on the "glue surface" on the weatherstrip.
3) We put a thin coat of glue on the "glue surface" on the car. We allow both to completely dry.
4) We use masking tape and make a center mark on the deck lid and we do the same for the weatherstrip.
5) We next glue the corners on the deck lid and allow them to completely dry. (we normally would leave it overnight.
6) We then glue the rest of the weatherstrip on the lid making sure to match our centers up.

We use painters tape to hold the weatherstrip in place and gently shut the lid to be assured the weatherstrip stays in place.

Willcox

The original weatherstrips had 90 degree ends on them, below is how they should look once they are glued in place.

Thank you very much, that is what I needed.

Your most welcome Craig. The one in the picture has been installed a couple of months (squashed a bit), but it should give you an idea.
