I put some fresh paint on the car just to seal off the body to protect the fiberglass. Full strip down and repaint will come later but I don't have any exposed areas on the body anymore.
Added new 14" air cleaner, PCV valve, fresh air breather line, carb fuel line metal drop down, new belts, and in the process of getting measurements and figuring out for a new metal fuel line from the pump to filter.
The touch-up paint helped out a lot......and some chrome never hurts anything!
You're like me.......get it safe and rolling....then do the paint!
I think it is looking better also. I ordered the wiper door rebuild from Dr. Rebuild so I can get it working and back on the car again to finish it off. Slowly but surely
Ohh Shiny stuff! Looking good. I am doing basicaly the same thing on a 68. I went with an L-88 style hood. I found a K+N filter that fit in the molded part inside the scoop so it actually has cowl induction. When you flip up the hood, it looks like an L-88 style motor. I feel your one step forward three steps back pain. It's part of restoration. Every time I take something apart to fix it, I find three other broken things. Don't rush it, you are doing this to relax and enjoy. Sometimes when I get stuck, I just put the cover back on it later after you think about it or research it. As others have told you on the paint, shop around, I found a guy who took my body off, fixed my frame, made all my body lines perfect and painted it for 11K. Deals can be had, now if I could get out of engine hell. Good luck and its looking good.

Thanks man and good luck with yours. I am planning on putting a stinger hood scoop on eventually and the engine, brakes, and electrical system are good to go now. What issues are you having on your engine?

I bought a rebuilt motor that was supposed to make some "serious HP". When I put it on the dyno for the break in and pulls, it only made 336 HP at the flywheel. Paid the guy cash and gave him my old motor that made 349 hp at the flywheel. Feeling pretty screwed over on it.
I am really digging' those wheels and the Cal Custom valve covers on your car. Love that old school kool. You should try getting those things polished.

I really like them too and polishing them all is on the to do list for sure. I am going to try Rvizio little trick he use on his.
I am torn on the rims though just because you can't get a decent 15" tire anymore. I want to go to 18" but still haven't found a rim I like, even though the Torque Thruster II or M look good but I am not sold yet. Not sure what Centerlines would look like on it either.

That is a total bummer man. I hope the other guy gets what he has coming to him.
I saw you might try my method for cleaning those huge valve covers compared to mine. They should really look nice. There are many alum. polishes available . I'll get you a pic of what I used, the choice is yours. Take your time, I am sure they will come back to life. Good Luck!

Well.....if you are going to be a show-off with the improvements on your car.....
I cleaned out my garage today....I no longer trip over tools/slip on oil spills/get grimy when sliding under the car.....Ihave also found 5 lost parts and 3 missing wrenches!

LMAO gunner that is next on my agenda because mine is a mess right now and needs to be reorganized and cleaned up.
Looking, really, really good!!! The yellow came out nicely! I had to crack up on the 'before' Interior shot! My C3 looked exactly like that: A Total Disaster. So I know, what you went through, on that one!
