Default My new 1976 corvette

I love her so much. Just in time for summer. She's definitely staying inside when its raining.

454 built big block 4 speed. Got it for about $12k. I thought it was a pretty good deal.

Drove it 150 miles home from Oregon to Seattle and my face now hurts from grinning. Had some idiots in a pickup want to race me, but i just ignored them haha.

Btw this is my absolute favorite color and I just cant believe there was a C3 stingray on craigslist that was 4 speed, sunset yellow, and a big block. I still can't believe it.

What ya'll think?

Awesome find!!!

I know you probably don't care because it's a beautiful, modded car and i'm sure you aren't a stickler for the small stuff, (and most importantly) I'm not trying to pick your car apart. Just trying to give a little friendly info....the emblems are 77/79 and it has the 78 pace car front spoiler.

I knew something was different about it lol but i thought eh w/e looks great anyways. Thanks for telling me where that front spoiler came from i actually love it. Gives it a really aggressive modern look yet remain completely classic. Since it's just a ordinary 1976 not a really sought after year, i think its the perfect year to go all out and mix up the parts for just a cheap modded car.

My only nit picky rap about this car is it doesn't have the corvette rally wheels. I'm not pulling my hair over that though because when the tires are ready to go i'm just going replace the rims too. Sell the current ones for a couple bucks.

I agree about the front spoiler...I am currently looking for a decently priced used one for my 77. I'm looking for that and an 80-82 rear bumper because I think those two pieces round out the C3 styling very well.

I do have an idea for a custom rear bumper though, but not the know-how or the money (yet) to be able to do it. Thinking of combining the 80-82 rear bumper with my 77 rear bumper because I like the bumperettes (I'm in a minority on that one), but I also like the molded spoiler. Also, I am planning on buying the rectangular muffler tips from a 98-02 Camaro Z28 because I think they would look pretty sweet in the areas between the bumperettes and license plate.

I'm not very nit-picky about originality.

Great looking car. Love the orange. That color and yellow are the two colors that I am considering for my 77. Lots of luck with your new Vette.

But its not the same one. The OP's hood looks like a 68-72 Big Block/LT-1 design with a raised "bulge" behind it. I've never seen a design like that before.

Welcome to the '76 Club - where rubber bumpers are just end caps for an actual C3.

Enjoy!

I noticed the same thing. Not sure that I've ever seen that 'solution' before. Most folks put on an L88 hood on the car.

If I'm being honest, I think I like it...

I think he might have been talking about the pace car spoiler.
