I am going to replace all of the brake and fuel lines on my 75 coupe. I am going to leave the body on as a body off resto is probably years down the road. I have read here and elsewhere on the forums that it is difficult with the body on but not impossible. I am planning on removing the fuel tank so hopefully that will make it a little easier. It looks like the only real tough part is going up and over the frame cross member. Can I safely unbolt the cross member without compromising the strength or safety of the frame? This looks like it will make the job a lot easier and I will just have to deal with the dog leg up over the rear of the frame.

As long as the weight of the transmission is supported so that the tailshaft angle is not exaggerated too low, I don't see why not.

Too bad that all C3 cars don't have the flexibility that comes with automatic equipped cars.

I've got a 78, body was off just enough to change out body mounts. Gas tanks is out, along w/ trans crossmember. It appears that the only thing I cannot do is change out the fuel lines. Maybe cut the lines, put new ones in and double flare the ends, but I think mine will just stay where they are. Could not figure how to twist and turn them enough to pull them out. Maybe jack r side of car up while changing body mounts and it can pull through. Good luck
