Pretty much internally similar to the engine above, except I prefer Chevy orange to black.

Default Almost done at the shop

Found a short block in the local area and having it rebuilt now. Built and back in the car, shop says they should be firing it up tomorrow.

Nice 427, but no L88... jeez, GM.

An upgraded hydraulic roller camshaft improves drivability and PRM range while lower 10.1:1 compression means you can enjoy the power on pump gas too.

6,400 maximum recommended rpm
I'm already annoyed at what they did with the ZL-1 moniker. If they do re-use the L-88 nameplate, I hope it's something ridiculous.

The ZZ454 and ZZ502 are less money than the ZZ427 also. If I was to buy one, it would be the cheaper more powerfull ZZ502

All these people doing LsX swaps, and I still find a Big block cooler

I have a 2001 LS6 in my garage, I wonder If I could trade it for a real LS6

LS motors are great, but if maximum power and durability are the goal they still can't touch the big blocks. An aluminum big block helps offset some of the weight delta too...

It came with a pretty beat up 2 bolt block that I managed to screw up more messing with it. Up on Craigslist popped this short one, 4 bolt forged crank and rods. Shop said it is way more than I needed so will be able to add more power later, told them to get me what they can out of pump gas and the stock iron heads. They said it should be in the 450 range and I asked for all low end power. Between DC traffic, VA mountains and my normal tendency to cruise under 65 anyway it should work out OK along with the TKO600 we just put in behind it. Next big hit is going to be tracking down a paint shop that is not going to kill me to get her painted.

My '69 BB car had an unknown SB in it. A couple months and a couple too many paychecks and this is what it has now. Carbs will come later.

And some of the goodies
