I am in search of certain magazines that my dad's car has been in. My mom purchased him a 1973 Stingray for his 55th birthday. Upon purchasing it, the dealership told her that his car had been in multiple magazines. I was wondering if anyone had any advice as to how I could find these magazines. I appreciate any information that any of you may have.
Here's a picture of his car that I found on the internet. I do know this is his by the sticker int he front windshield, I have tried to contact the website to see if they had any information about the photo but they were unable to help me.
It's a vert, the color is somewhat rare from the research I have done. It's call Tuxedo Blue. I have no idea what BB/SB means, sorry.
Pretty sure Tuxedo Blue isnt a Corvette color in '73.
However, look at the photo you provided... it has a "Corvette Fever" license plate on it. When my car was in Corvette Fever magazine, they gave me that plate for the photos.
This tells me you need to start looking for Corvette Fever magazines specifically. Maybe even send them a note
EDIT: let the record show Ed and I tied at 11:38 AM!

Correct. No Tuxedo Blue which may explain how it showed up in Corvette Fever. My hunch is that the blue may have been available on other GM models, but not Corvette. The story will be how the original owner was able to swing the Tuxedo Blue.
I contacts Corvette Fever about searching for the magazine. They said they could do it for a certain fee. They didn't say how much, they only mentioned that it is rather costly and that there is no guarantee. You guys have any other suggestions?
Can you narrow down the years it may have been in the magazine?
I've tried everything I could, I contacted the dealership, they did a check on the previous owner I guess before the car was purchased, and could not get ahold of him. I'm not quite sure what else to do at this present moment.
Just an observation, seems odd the GM would take a color name like "Tuxedo Black", which kind of makes sense with most tuxes traditionally being black, and then modify it to "Tuxedo Blue". A little like "Forest Blue". I'm useless.

Hey Twill,
Well I can take a gander through my stack tonight, I subscribed for 6-7 years. It's worth a shot right?
