Default Adjustable Strut Rods

Hey fellas,
I bought a set of these adjustable strut rods and the only way I can get them on the spindle side is to put them in without the two washers and even then its tight. Anyone have this issue and run them without the washers?
Thanks

I don't actually remember having washers on the outboard ends...
Could be wrong though.

My guess is that those washers fit in where the eccentric went to prevent the end from being able to slide along the adjustment slot.
