Default Radiator installation

Can anyone tell me how long it takes to totally reinstall the radiator in an 82 corvette? It was removed and sent to have a small hole fixed and my mechanic just got it back and is putting it back on my car. I am trying to get some idea of how long it takes, weather I can expect it to be finished today or not.

If he is being paid by the job, then probably it will be ready. If he is paid by the hour, then probably not.

Just sayin...

Ask your mechanic. He/she can tell you whether they expect to get it finished today.

C3's are not typically radiator replace/reinstall friendly cars. For the early C3 big blocks...torture.

I can either remove or replace the rad in my 69 big block in just over an hour. I remove the hood and take out the shroud/rad/support as a unit.
Remove the fan, hoses, three bolts on each side of the support, two on the bottom and the brace, one ground strap, tilt it forward and lift it straight up. I get my wife to hold one side of the hood while I bolt it back down.

Wow, without knowing what had to be repaired on the radiator I would say you were treated very fair. I have heard an average of 6 hours labor plus materials and whatever the radiator cost is. So a thousand dollars is very possible at the high end.
Thanks

You did OK.

He removed the radiator and sent it to a radiator repair shop in town to repair a small hole in the bottom of it, reinstalled it and added coolant. That's all that's listed on the invoice.
