Default 1968 corvette roadster

I have been looking for the corvette my dad bought new in 1968 from Dana Chevrolet in Southgate CA. The lic. plate number was WEL 185 ( CA )
It was a 427 4 speed blue. Was sold to a guy named Greg Luna in 1972.

The plate number is not likely to be of much help if the car is no longer in California. Do you have the VIN?

I have the Vin# for my June of '68 built coupe.
I have the tank sticker too.
I have been able to determine by zone 34 it came from San Diego, CA
I have not been able to locate the orig. selling dealer 172.
The dealer code assigned is drawing a blank amongst all asked.
It is tough to locate owner history once the car leaves the state and
over time registration and vin's not registered in some time are dropped from the states DMV records.
My car left CA and went to VA, OH, and eventually PA.
I know of the 3 previous owners. I do not know who the OH seller got it from the trail goes cold.
You would have to know who or where your dad sold the car so you could place an add in a local corvette clubs newsletter.
Its tough unless the car traded hands locally and parties know each other as I guess happens when cars exchange hands amongst club members.
Good Luck would be a great story if you find dads ride.
