Default Little things that bring joy!

I'm finding the older I get, the more annoying stupid things are. When we bought our car, I new about the engine, I knew about other small items that needed TLC, like an arm rest missing. What I found out as to WHY the arm rest went missing in the first place really annoyed the hell out of me. This weekend I finally got the simple tasks of opening the door, locking & unlocking it, and have it shut properly to function as it's supposed to

This has plagued me for weeks on end, while I found parts missing, tracked down those parts only to find others missing, once all the parts were obtained and installed, then found other parts needed to be cleaned and lubricated, adjusted, clips located, blah blah blah, all while attempted to do surgery through the ever small openings Chevrolet feel would **** off a bunch of back yard mechanics some day. I mean seriously, I can be sure if a squirrel needs a kidney removed, I have the skills and the tools

Anyway, thanks to this forum, because truly I couldn't have done it without it. I now can open the drivers door, lock it, unlock it and do the basic functions a door is supposed to do. I know it's real simple and kinda basic but it does feel good when you finally get to the end of a small project.

I ran into the same joy when I finally got my 71's wipers working. Hell, I would go out in the garage at random just to turn them on and off because "I could."

With skills like that, squirrel surgery is easy! And yes, it feels great to have something function on a C3, like it's supposed to. Getting there is another thing...

I would like to know how you have developed your self control to ONLY fix the door. Usually, since the door is open, you notice the carpet looks bad, since your changing out the carpet, you might as well get some new seats, since the seats are out, might as well change out the tranny and while that's out, where can I find a deal on a crate engine. That is where I usually find myself. Congrats on a functioning door.

I learned early about the " while I'm in here " disease, it kills me, but we are already 8K into this 3k purchase.
