stock 73 L82. Recently had trouble turning the ignition to the Start position. I had to jiggle the steering wheel (which is locked) and the gear shift (which is in reverse) to get it to free up and turn to Start. Sometimes I also have to turn the ignition to ACC to get it to free up.
The 73 Service Manual has a section on adjusting a linkage/cable between the transmission and steering column.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Fran

This may sound silly but put some WD-40 in that area. It worked for me.

Not a silly idea, Paul. I shot WD-40 into the ignition keyhole before when the buzzer would not stop and it cured it. I'll try it on other areas this weekend when I am under the car.
