Default So, we found a few extra items that need attention.

I was so excited when we got our car, and, judging by what the PO told us, we didn't think it would take too much to get it back on the road. In all honesty it hasn't and I think most of what we were told was true (as far as the PO remembered things) but we have had a few surprises along the way. Like, yah the brakes were new but they sat so long that they had to be replaced. I don't think people realize that after a car sits undriven for years things work differently or don't work at all and there is usually a little more work/expense involved than first thought.
I didn't drive my T-Bird a lot but I did drive it (less than 1000 miles a year) I would never just let a car sit for years at a time. Why do people do that?

Yup. People are so spoiled by modern cars. When the reality of what it takes to keep one of these old cars in top shape sinks in.....they tend to just get parked.
