Default "82" oxygen sensor"

Did a "code dump" on my 1982 and it showed a code 13 which is oxygen sensor. My question is (1)where is the oxygen sensor (2) how do I replace it and (3) is this something that can be purchased at Autozone. I do have Hooker Headers does that make a difference as to what sensor to purchase?

On the factory setup, its in the pipe near the cat. You can see it from the passengers side looking up. As for removing a 30 year old part from the exhaust....i don't know. I'm about to cross that road. I do have the O2 sockets for installing the new one, but normally cut the wire and use what's best for removing old ones. if your O2 is in the factory location, a stock one should do fine. My biggest fear is ending up with an entirely new exhaust from trying to change one sensor.

PB blaster is your friend in this case. spray every day for a week before attempting. the store sells an oxygen sensor removal wrench that helps sometimes.

Just curious are you still running the fuel injected unit? I assume you are since you're messing with the computer. Since you're running headers (long tube or shorties?) I'd go with a heated 02 and will make a big difference.
