While I have one on order, I cannot find any illustration/exploded view of it's assembly. My question is; Is there any gasket between this part and the engine block to which it is mounted on?

I have a question If you don't mind. Theres a bypass in the adapter correct? If you have high oil pressure pump,(I have 50 psi) Will the filter be bypassed and not clean the oil properly?
The bypass works on a differential pressure. It will bypass if the pressure on the inlet and outlet of the filter are too different. Higher oil pressure should not affect it. It's designed to bypass if the filter is plugged or the oil is too cold to flow through at the rate the oil pump is pushing it.
