Can someone please post some pics of correctly installed windshield pillar weatherstrip. My 78 was missing both sides and it appears the replacement piece is about an inch too long on each end. Is that right? Thanks in advance!
I tell you what else, do not put any screws in place, use RTV black by permatex to secure it, the side windows can be outta adjustment just a hair and chip the glass on the screw heads.....the stainless channel in my '72 vert should be about the same on your car.....

The channel is still secured with screws, and gasket is permatexed? Too late the window is already chipped some!
The weatherstrip sounds like it is about the correct size. It is longer than the metal piece. Trial fit it several times to make sure the fit is good before sealing. I used some strip caulk between the windshield frame and channel, then I used some weatherstrip adhesive for the channel.
It needs to fit against the tee top weatherstrip and shouldn't stop the window from going all the way up when the door is closed.
You want the top of the pillar to make it to the top of the header so that it aligns and hits the forward edge of the t-top weatherstrip. This is best illustrated in the lower left picture of the repro weatherstrip installed on the 72.
