today I finally got around to pulling the tank sticker on my 68 roadster.to my amazement this car originally came with N 11" special offroad side exhaust".I have seen posts on the forum saying 68 never came with side exhaust. This confirms that they in fact did.The date the order was received for this car was 10 / 31 / 67.
all c3s should have sticker, but it could be behind dash, under carpet/seats etc. at least up to 74, Great news you found yours to the OP, my 70 was long gone, either never there or fell off at some point.
Did all the C3s have the tank stickers? Or is that where they put them?
The standard factory practice was to glue them to the tank so workers could check to confirm the buyer's RPO options. In 1973 the St Louis introduced the GMAD buildsheet (General Motors Acceptance Corporation) and workers could not only confirm the RPO but pull the correct parts by the broadcast code.
As LT states, they have also been found in a number of other places but this was random rather than a standard practice.
