As I continue the repair process on my console and dash systems along with the wiring and gauges on my '73...
Testing the HVAC controls today, I was able to engage the A/C clutch for the first time since I brought this thing home. No cold air yet as I'm sure the refrigerant is long gone...but the compressor runs now.
Progress is slow... but at least its headed in the right direction again.
What were your minor victory(s) as your car was going back together?
Everything is a small victory!!!!....
I was this week fighting with the seatbelts bolts....bodyshop friends will help now....
Another victory is the problems with the vacuum system, I did a bypass and added a new switch to the console.....
And the list will never end, I was just telling somebody that anything that on any car will take 10 min, on my c3 takes weeks.....anyway is a ton of fun!!!
When I got my car, you could start it without a key. My minor victory (major to some) was replacing the ignition lock cylinder myself (before I really knew a whole lot about cars) and putting everything back together on a weekend.
I can really relate, even though we are fairly new C3 owners, I still tell people how it took me 3 weeks to get the door to unlock, lock, AND open consistently ( I still sneak out to the car some nights and just open and close the door )
My most recent victory....A friend came over to help me put the motor back in the car. We got to talking and I told him my door panels don't fit right and the drivers side door is always sticking. He opens the door and says, "hey, your sill plates are in backwards".
