Differences in Core Supports?

There were at least 3 different small block supports used in 68.
The base 327/300 4 speed used one support. It can be identified by the round rod X brace across the radiator opening. The base support was designed to be used with a metal shroud. This support was used with the 19" aluminum radiator, which sat on 2 round cups, mounted at the bottom of the support. The opening in this support was about 20" wide.
The second support was used with air conditioned cars. It had additional holes on the right hand side, for the condenser lines, and didn't have the X brace. This support was used with an aluminum radiator, that sat in 2 "U" shaped saddles. The radiator opening is a about 25" wide.
The third support was used with automatic, no air cars. I think it was basically the same as the AC support, but without the condenser holes, and with an X brace. Like the AC support, it used the fiberglass shroud.
I can't recall if 327/350 cars, used the base support, or the same one as the automatics.

GBVette62, That is a really good answer. My company made all of the Corvette radiator supports from 1960-1982. My 68 327/350 had the base support for the 19" aluminum radiator and the metal shroud. I believe that in 68 SB 4-speeds with a/c, automatics and all big blocks (except for the L-88) used the one larger copper/brass radiator and the plastic shroud. Lou.
