Default unknown part with pictures

found this under the dash of a new to me 1978, wires go inthe the factory harness and it has a inline fuse holder. Anyone have any idea what it is?http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/ja...tml?sort=3&o=0

not radio it wont reach, I don't think they had factory radar detectors

it is part of the factory harness runs up behind the instrument cluster, it doesn't appear to be a added part

Not as from what i can tell it runs from the small board with the heat shrink on it up into the harness but i have never seen a gm with a inline fuse like this

if its not factory someone did a heck of a good job putting it in the factory wiring loom, but since every thing else works I think I will just tape it up good and leave it under the dash in case i figure out what is goes to

If its hooked up to your radio power line it old be an alternator noise suppressor.

BINGO!
IF, and only if you have delay wipers, it is installed in the "wiper" fuse slot in place of the glass fuse.
No delay wipers and it is just tucked up out of the way.
And it IS factory! Only on 78s.
